After a very very busy day yesterday, there is little to report. Ironically, yesterday was a fabulous day for dividend declarations but the market chose it as the day to tank on the back of a big fall in the Nikkei, which was reacting to poor Chinese data

A very large number of companies reported their results this morning and there were a lot of very good dividend increases and also a couple of special dividends from Paypoint and Aveva.

This morning saw a number of small dividend increases with SSE increasing by 5.1%, Shaftesbury by 5%, Great Portland estates by 2.4% and Britvic by 1.9%. The market looks set to open up slightly with the FTSE 100 future currently trading up 9 points.

A very busy morning saw a lot of declarations with Paragon starring with a 60% rise in the interim dividend. Burberry managed a 16% rise and Telecom plus a 14.8% rise in the full year dividend. Big yellow, Bloomsbury and Vodafone all increased.

The FTSE looks to open trading slightly down this morning. Cranswick increased its 2013 dividend by 5.6%. MITIE increased its 2013 final dividend by 7.3% and ITE group increased its 2013 interim dividend by 9.5%. BTG produced good numbers, no dividend yet

The FTSE 100 is struggling to breach the 6700 mark convincingly and we still have time for the sell in May adage to bear fruit. Lots of Interim Management Statements this morning but no actual results after a busy day yesterday so no dividend declarations

The market is up slightly this morning. Quite a few declarations this morning and the fairly lacklustre performance continues. The one bright spot was TalkTalk who not only increased their 2013 dividend by 15.6%, but promised another 15% increase for 2014

The FTSE 100 continues ever upwards and is rising again this morning. Dividend declaration are not matching the euphoria seen in the markets with Compass declaring an increase in its interim of 11%, London Stock Exchange of 4% and Land Securities of 2.8%.
