Morrisons Supermarkets (MRW)
William Morrison was founded in Yorkshire at the end of the 19th century. In 1967 it floated on the London Stock Exchange. It was very successful and this success translated into the aquisition of the Safeway chain of supermarkets.
Morrisons supermarkets dividends
Initially, this was a struggle, but has since translated into quite a success story. This is reflected in the dividend history which has been excellent.
In fact our numbers suggest that from 2006 to 2011, in a 5 year period, the dividend will have trebled from 4p to over 12p... that takes some beating.
Morrisons is projected to continue increasing their dividend and have decent dividend cover to support this.
