Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG)
InterContinental Hotels was previously a part of the Six Continents leisure group. As a hotel group, it developed a different approach to the business in that it sold many of its hotels and signed long term management contracts. There are approaching 4000 hotels in the group in around about 100 countries. It used to have a large stake in drinks group, Britvic, which it sold in 2005, when Britvic floated on the London Stock Exchange.
